Quick Baccarat Rules
The rules of Baccarat are simple and easy to understand. The goal of Baccarat is to assemble a hand as close to 9 as possible without going iver using two or three cards. In Baccarat there are two hands called "naturals". To get a "natural" hand in Baccarat you will need to have a hand value of eight or nine in the forst two cards dealt. The "natural" eight can only be beaten by a "natural" nine. If either the banker or the player draws a "natural" hand then the other players in the game may not draw a third card. If there is a tie the bets are returned and a new hand begins.Much like Blackjack the face cards are valued at ten, the other cards are valued at their face value but the ace is valued only at one and not one or eleven. Another difference between Blackjack and Baccarat is that you cannot bust in Baccarat like you can in Blackjack. If you enter double digits in Baccarat the first digit is simply dropped from your hand value. So if you were dealt a six and a four a total of ten the hand would be valued at zero, a thirteen wold become three and a seventeen would become a seven.
Generally in Baccarat the player with the most money is the banker. In most cases this is the casino. Teh role of banker can move around the table to players that have enough money to cover the wagers. Even though a patron maybe the banker instead of the casino, the casino's dealer still deals the cards to the players. The banker will deal two hands of two cards each. These hands are for the banker and the player. If there are more players/patrons interesed in playing they will not receive any cards but they are open to placing bets on any hand including the banker's hand. At the start of a hand the bank will delare the stakes for the hand. Should any player decare "Banco" all other bets are withdrawn. Banco refers to the action of placing a wager equal to the bankers stake. If a player/patron is playing as the bank, the casino will take a percentage of their wins.
If a player has a count of less than eight they have two options, to stand (by saying "non") or to receive one more card face up (by saying "carte"). A player must stand on six or seven and must draw on a hand of four or less.
